Description

For a while I have been stuck in a rut. The rut where I color in everything using their default colors. Skin is light pink/orange, red being pure red; dayglo colors and not knowing why my art looked so generic compared to stuff you'd see at ConceptArt. Then I realized
Think outside the box

I found this great informative site where the author shows you all these different lighting environments from day to night, to tungsten, to fluorescent. He mentions how we're conditioned into seeing what we think are red, white and standard colors but they are tinted by the light of their environment.

I didn't intend this to look like it was done at night with a fluorescent light (which I think is the coolest lighting effect) but I realized it looked great and went with it. Next time I hope to be able to control how the lighting looks in my image.

Now maybe my art will look more interesting and fresh.
